Cara Knights
Instructional Assistant
Cara joined Third Academy in 2017 as an Instructional Assistant. She grew up in Ottawa, Ontario but spent most of her adult life on the beautiful beaches of Prince Edward Island. A need for change brought her to Calgary, where she was excited to continue her career in Special Education. Cara holds a diploma in Child and Youth Care with Addictions Support, and is equipped with over 15 years of experience in the field.
There are many things that Cara enjoys about working for Third Schools. The smaller class sizes make it easy to build and maintain meaningful relationships with our students and their families, as well as provide the individualized care and support that they need in order to feel the most successful. When our students walk through the front doors of school, they not only receive support in the classroom, but they also receive mental health and family support. We truly believe that no child should be left to fall through the cracks.
During her free time, Cara enjoys spending time with her husband and two year old daughter, as well as their dog, Kobe. Cooking, baking, and travelling are just a few of her hobbies. During the summer months, she tries to get home to the east coast as much as possible to get her fill of the beautiful ocean beaches and to spend time with family and friends.
