Wayne Capper
Bus Driver
Born and raised in Calgary, Wayne is a true local who brings a diverse and impressive professional history to Third Academy. Wayne often describes himself as having a "wealth of useless knowledge," but his background in sales, finance, and professional driving proves otherwise. Before joining us, he had a successful career in the financial sector as a Certified Financial Planner (CFP) with Investors Group and worked within CBE Environmental Services. His wide-ranging expertise is further highlighted by his various certifications, including being an ISG Sommelier, holding a BOMA Certificate, and having specialized training in Dementia Care and Balance Fitness.
Wayne officially joined the Third Academy family in February 2025, starting as a part-time driver. He was initially drawn to the school through our Transportation Manager, Tammy, and has since become a reliable fixture of our "InBus" team. His primary focus today is safe student transportation, where he applies his professional driving experience to ensure that every student has a secure and comfortable journey. Wayne’s multifaceted background allows him to bring a unique level of care and level-headedness to his daily routes.
Outside of work, Wayne stays busy with his many passions, including golfing, attending live theatre, and traveling with his wife, Jackie, whom he married in 1990. He is a proud father to his son Brandon and daughter Tori, a grandfather to two, and can frequently be found out for a walk with his grand-puppy, Scout.
