Kayla Kondics
Music Specialist
Kayla Kondics is a multidisciplinary professional serving as the Music Specialist for the Third Schools system. A Calgary native who joined the team in early 2026, Kayla brings a "kids-first" mentality driven by a deep-seated commitment to student advocacy. Her musical journey began at age three and has led her to master 13 different instruments, perform with orchestras, and earn her ARCT and LRCM diplomas from the Royal Conservatory of Music. A professional recording artist, composer, and conductor, Kayla was also a recipient of the Lieutenant Governor’s Award for her work with families through music.

Beyond her artistic career, Kayla’s professional background spans medicine, research, and education. A published author with advanced training in Traumatology and Trauma-Informed Practices, she has balanced work as a medical educator and researcher in Maternal Fetal Medicine with her dedication to the arts. Her academic credentials include studies in Community Rehabilitation and Disability Studies at the University of Calgary, and she is currently pursuing a degree in Criminal Justice at Mount Royal University. She leverages this high level of expertise—including certifications in Paediatric Life Support (PALS) and Trauma Life Support (ATLS)—to support diverse learners across Third Academy, LYNX, and ursa.

Kayla’s educational philosophy is deeply personal. Having navigated the school system as a child who once "fell through the cracks," she is fiercely dedicated to ensuring that every student has the opportunity to learn to the best of their abilities. She values the unique journey of every child and believes in providing the specialized, compassionate support necessary to help them find success. Outside of the classroom, Kayla is a woman of many passions. When she isn’t at the rink or the studio cheering on her three children in hockey, dance, and gymnastics, she is likely found on horseback or in the air as she works toward her private pilot’s license.
