Inayah Rahman
Speech and Language Therapist
Inayah Rahman brings a global perspective and a wealth of specialized knowledge to her role as a Speech-Language Pathologist at Third Academy. Originally from Detroit, Michigan, Inayah joined our school community through her work with Blue Water Speech Therapy, quickly becoming an essential part of our student support network.
Inayah’s journey to the field of speech-language pathology follows the "scenic route" common among many of our dedicated staff. Before finding her true calling in education and therapy, she spent four years working in the health insurance industry. Driven by a desire to pursue work more closely aligned with her passion for helping others directly, she pivoted her career, building a robust academic foundation that includes an Associate of Science in General Science from Henry Ford College, a Bachelor of Science in Public Health from Wayne State University, and a Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology from Western Kentucky University.
At Third Academy, Inayah’s expertise spans our entire student body, from our youngest learners in ECS to our graduating Grade 12 students. Her work is comprehensive, focusing on social skill development, expressive and receptive language, speech sound production, and the use of Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) devices. Whether working with a child just beginning to find their voice or a teenager refining their social communication, Inayah provides the tools necessary for every student to express themselves effectively. Her philosophy is centered on the individual. Inayah believes that student success is rooted in a kind, approachable environment where support is meticulously tailored to each child’s unique needs. She understands that communication is the key to connection, and she works tirelessly to ensure no student is left without a way to engage with the world around them.
When she isn’t helping students find their voice, Inayah finds her own relaxation in a good book or by diving into the world of video games. Her balanced approach to personal and professional life reflects the well-rounded, empathetic culture we strive for at Third Academy.
