Jeff Watt
Teacher - Fine Arts Focus
Jeff Watt comes from a long family lineage of teachers and artists. Born and raised in Calgary, he attended the Alberta University of the Arts where in 1998 he was awarded his Bachelor of Fine Arts, majoring in both Drawing and Textiles. Jeff continued his postsecondary studies in the Master of Teacher program at the University of Calgary and was granted his BEd degree with a focus on Secondary Fine Art Education in 2003. He has a special interest in inclusion in the classroom and advocacy for students with special needs.
Jeff’s journey as an artist and educator took him to many places both near and far. His first teaching position was with Third Academy. He has taught students at most grade levels including children in Kindergarten in Hong Kong. Prior to returning to Third Academy in 2024, Jeff taught for the Calgary Board of Education. Jeff recognizes the importance of incorporating creativity in the learning experience and appreciates that the development of effective learning practices has significant impact on success in the workplace.
Jeff treasures living in the foothills west of Calgary with his lovely wife Johanna, his children, and his many beloved pets.
