Nova Slauenwhite
Administrative Assistant
Nova joined Third Schools in 2024 bringing with her more than 25 years of experience working with children and youth in a variety of settings. Born and raised in Nova Scotia, she took an early interest in assisting children and youth. As a high school student, she had the unique experience of working as an intern at a Youth Centre in Belfast, Northern Ireland.
Desiring to gain the knowledge and skills to better help youth develop life skills, explore their interests, and build confidence outside of the traditional school environment, Nova decided to study Recreation at the University of Maine, Machias. Upon completion of her Bachelor of Science degree, she was fortunate to have the opportunity to live and work in many different locations throughout the world, including South America, Mexico, the United States, and across Canada.
After her son was born, Nova returned to the Maritimes where Nova further developed her skills, education, and experience while working as an Educational Assistant with neurodivergent and at-risk youth in the Halifax school systems.
As the first point of contact for our East Campus, Nova provides a professional and welcoming introduction to our organization. She is a vital member of our central administrative team, ensuring a positive experience for all our visitors.
When not at work, Nova enjoys exploring fibre arts, cooking, and spending time with her son exploring outside.
