Students and teaching staff in our Elementary E3 and E4 classrooms will be “sleeping with the dinosaurs” in the renowned Dinosaur Hall at the Royal Tyrrell Museum this October. Located in the Canadian Badlands near Drumheller Alberta, the museum has one the largest displays of dinosaur remains in the world.
On our exciting journey of discovery, we’ll depart the school on the morning of Tuesday, October 1st by Third Academy school bus and enjoy a packed lunch at a picnic area. At the museum, our activities will include:
- Badlands hike
- Ancient Alberta rocks workshop
- A walk through the museum galleries
- Fossil casting workshop
- and several other exciting undertakings.
Best of all, we’ll bunk down in our sleeping bags for the night in Dinosaur Hall!
We’ll enjoy an afternoon snack, a delicious supper, evening snack, and a tasty breakfast at the Royal Tyrrell Museum. After some morning activities on Wednesday, October 2nd, we’ll pack up and return to Calgary in time for our regular school dismissal.
Not only will this trip be highly educational, but we’ll also have a lot of fun and get to know our classmates much better.
