I received my Teacher Education at the University of Calgary where I graduated with a Bachelor of Physical Education, as well as a Bachelor of Education degree. I also possess Level One Coaching Certificates in basketball, soccer, badminton, and outdoor education.

When I came to the Third Academy I was eager to use my skills and experience to help children build a strong foundation of knowledge that would benefit the whole child. My philosophy was supported by the Third Academy Model which focuses on teaching the students’ numeracy and literacy, but also compliments this with physical literacy, expressive arts, and personal development. I felt confident that this type of program would help special needs students to develop the strong life skills that they would require to propel them to success.

I also believe that a student’s educational success is dependent on the student, their parents, and the school working hand in hand with common goals and expectations. When I came to Third Academy I was excited to see how their Program Model followed my philosophy and even enhanced it with fewer students in the classroom, using a two-teacher teaching method, and a wide array of support from professionals such as Psychologists, Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language Pathologists, Behavioural Therapists and more, providing programs right at the school.

I am so excited to be part of a team that works so hard to help each student reach their educational potential. I have taught every grade here at the Third Academy and have had the privilege of leading the best team of teachers I have ever worked with as principal.
