100 Men Calgary Selects Third Academy as their Charity Recipient

100 Men Calgary choose Third Academy to receive approximately $10,000 as a donation at their quarterly meeting help June 14, 2016. 100 Men Calgary is a group of concerned men who want to make a difference in their community. Each member pledges to donate $100 per quarter to a charity selected by the group. Each quarter three charities are considered and a vote is held. At the June 14th meeting, the 100 Men Calgary Members viewed presentations from Third Academy,  STARS, and Making Changes Associations. While all STARS and Making Changes are both worthy organizations, Third Academy was voted the quarterly recipient charity! Every 100 Men Calgary member will be donating $100 to Third Academy.

The donations will be used to purchase iPads and educational software for these devices. iPads are an effective educational tool for Third Academy students as the devices are used to target specific skill deficiencies, including:

  • Numeracy Skills
  • Literacy Skills
  • Communication Skills
  • Fine Motor Skills
  • Visual Perceptual Skills

iPads integrate well into the overall program for Third Academy students and, when used as a pedagogical or therapeutic tool, they greatly enhance student success.
