I have been passionate about working with children and families since I was young. I am especially drawn towards children with special needs and their families. I am consistently blown away by their strength and resiliency. It is a privilege to be given the opportunity to hear the stories of the children and youth at the Third Academy. It is also a pleasure to work with a team (teachers, staff, students, and psychologists) who show selfless passion and creativity in their work.
I am currently completing my Masters of Counselling Psychology (MC) degree. My approach to counselling is an integrative one. I mainly use Narrative Therapy concepts, along with Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and a strength based approach. I also incorporate mindfulness, behavioural strategies, and creative interventions (play and art). I believe strongly in relationship building and engagement. Each person is unique and so I am flexible in adopting a variety of approaches with respect to what works for them.
